Aviva became a Corporate Partner of the Consortium for Street Children in 2010 when it launched street to school, its global flagship community programme.
We realise we need expert partners in order to make the biggest long term difference and this is where CSC has been invaluable.”
Group Head of Corporate Responsibility, Aviva
For the past six years, Aviva has championed the rights of street-connected children. We formed a meaningful partnership that helped the United Nations to conduct a global study on children in street situations, which concluded that governments did not have the knowledge or technical information to reach street children with their rights. The report recommended that the UN’s lead authority on child rights develop a new legal framework on street children. The UN will be issuing this General Comment on Street Children in Street Situations later in 2017, which if implemented, will bring about lasting change to the lives of street-connected children.
