After this year’s London Marathon went virtual due to the pandemic, our board member David put his own spin on the traditional marathon ‘26’ distance – by cycling 260km in one day!
And if this wasn’t enough he also covered 2600m of ascent, which is the same as going from sea level to the top of most ski resorts, on a round trip which took him over the Peak District, the Pennines, and over to the west coast of England.
David has been involved with the Consortium for Street Children for 10 years and has seen the impact of our work first hand, from network member projects supporting the rights, dignity and potential of street children, to raising their voices at the UN Human Rights Council.
David says: “I am super proud to be raising money for [CSC] – especially when Covid-19 has had such a huge impact of services for street children and sadly also the funding available. They are a smaller charity but they make big change happen, both in the UK and right around the world.”
With the support of friends and family, David has so far raised an incredible £3,273 for his challenge which will help to ensure that we can continue keeping street children safe in this global emergency.
